"Shift happens" – Managing Organizational Change in an Intercultural Environment

The following topics will be discussed in detail during the training:

  • Necessities and benefits of organizational change
  • Cultural differences towards the adaptability and openness to change
  • Intercultural criteria that can potentially affect organizational change
  • Strategies to facilitate the adaptation of transformations
  • Development of international organizations
  • Impact of cultural stereotypes while managing organizational change
  • Analysis of specific situations and discussing graphic examples

The training has the aim to sensitize the participants for the intercultural impacts of organizational change. “Culture eats Strategy for Breakfast” (Peter Drucker) means that instead of seeing interculturality as a big obstacle for transformations in a company, it will be discussed which advantages can arise from the fact, that people from different cultures work together in an organization which needs to go through major transitions. The participants can therefore learn about some strategies to facilitate the management of organizational change in an intercultural work ambience.
